Classic Homestyle Beef Meatloaf

This old-school beef meatloaf recipe is the definition of comfort food — made with rich, juicy 80/20 Ground Beef and topped with a sweet, tangy glaze. A family favorite for good reason.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbs 80/20 Ground Beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme

For the glaze:

  • 1/3 cup ketchup
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Line a loaf pan with parchment paper or foil.
  2. In a large bowl, mix breadcrumbs and milk. Let sit 5 minutes.
  3. Add eggs, onion, garlic, ketchup, Worcestershire, salt, pepper, and thyme. Mix well.
  4. Add ground beef and mix gently until just combined.
  5. Shape into a loaf and place in pan. Bake 40 minutes.
  6. Mix glaze ingredients and spread over loaf. Bake 15 more minutes or until internal temp hits 160°F.
  7. Let rest 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
