If you are searching for a meat market near Fort Worth that sells beef from cattle it actually raised, the answer is about thirty minutes west on Highway 199. Parker County Beef Company is a fourth-generation ranch in Springtown with its own USDA-inspected processing plant, a butcher shop on Hwy 199, and a second shop in Decatur. Here is what you will find, how to get there, and how to have it delivered if you would rather not drive.
Why drive past the grocery store
- The beef is ours. Raised on the Burtnett family ranch in Parker County, pasture-raised and finished with locally sourced grains, no added hormones, no routine antibiotics. We can tell you which animals went into your order.
- Processed in our own plant. Every cut comes out of our USDA-inspected facility in Springtown under continuous inspection, then goes into our own case. No distributor in the middle.
- Ground beef ground from our own cattle. Not blended from purchased trim, which is how most grocery ground beef is made and where imported beef enters the supply. More on that: where grocery ground beef comes from.
- Cuts you will not find at a chain. Bone-in ribeyes cut thick, tablitas, oxtail, whole briskets, and our Pure Pasture™ 100% grass-fed Longhorn ground beef.
