Beef Tallow Soap ($8.00)
Bar soap made with tallow as the primary fat. This is how bar soap was made throughout most of history before synthetic detergent bases replaced animal fats in mass-market products in the mid-20th century.
Tallow-based soap lathers well, rinses cleanly, and does not strip the skin the way sodium lauryl sulfate-based soaps can. The saturated and monounsaturated fats in tallow are chemically similar to the lipids that compose human skin — this is why tallow absorbs rather than sitting on the surface and why tallow-based cleansers feel different than synthetic alternatives.
At $8.00 per bar, it is the most affordable product in our tallow line and a reasonable first purchase for anyone who wants to try the category without committing to skincare products.
Shea Butter Whipped Tallow Balm 4oz ($25.00)
Tallow as the base fat, whipped with shea butter for a lighter texture than straight tallow. The whipping process incorporates air, which changes the consistency from dense and waxy to something closer to a soft lotion that absorbs in 30 to 60 seconds without leaving a heavy residue.
It works as a face moisturizer, hand cream, lip balm, cuticle treatment, and overnight skin recovery product. The ingredient list is short because it does not need to be long. Tallow and shea butter are doing the work.
A small amount covers a large area — a 4 oz jar lasts most daily users two to three months. The key is applying a thin layer rather than a heavy application: warm a small amount between your fingers first, then apply to damp or dry skin.
The Connection to Our Beef Operation
The tallow in both of these products comes from the same cattle we sell by the pound in our beef collections. Rendering the fat for skincare and cooking use is part of a whole-animal approach to the operation — nothing from the animal is wasted, and every product we sell can be traced back to cattle we raised and processed ourselves.
